Design’s impact in music is remarkably important. It influences every way we perceive an artist, and can drive people to want to own a physical copy of a record. In this edition of Noisey Design, we talked to Stefan Sagmeister of Sagmeister & Walsh Inc. Sagmeister is responsible for some of the best and most memorable album artwork in modern music, like David Byrne and Brian Eno’s Everything That Will Happen Today, or Lou Reed’s Ecstasy. Sagmeister also goes on to talk about his opinion on the effect of videos in the overall interpretation of the music, and how visual art augments the enjoyment of the record itself.
