In this amusing and somewhat strange clip, Tom Cruise & Christopher McQuarrie show us their near perfect hair impression of a newsreader and educate us on why we should stop motion smoothing on our smart TV.
For those people that were the king of the school-yard at chasey or tag, this new sport is for you!
Co-directed by Mighty Nice’s Darren Price and Simon Robson, the film marks the launch of the new reMarkable tablet – a device that offers a paper-like experience for reading, writing and sketching. It’s limitless with no distractions.
‘Get Your Brain Back’ has its roots in classic dystopian sci-fi tales where man-made machines rise to dominate humankind. We live in a time where we are constantly bombarded with information. Distractions from social media notifications, emails, breaking news and pop up messages have become the norm.
“I couldn’t be more proud of the final film,” says Darren Price, ECD of Mighty Nice. “We had a fantastic, dedicated team on this film. Our dailies were electric with their enthusiasm as everyone was inspired by the film’s message. That stuff is contagious and the film shows it.
“Darren and I were charged with making a film that would shine a light on our audience’s digital obsession and yet at the same time hold their attention,” explains Simon Robson, co-director.
“Not an easy tightrope to walk. So we spent weeks conceiving animated sequences, metaphors and transitions with enough excitement to keep an audience engaged. Our animated ideas swim between the every-day and the abstract. Too much of the former and the message is too raw, too much of the latter and the message is lost. I think we struck a beautiful balance. I was constantly bowled over by the talent of the Mighty Nice team and their dedication to the craft.”

“Over half think their vulva is imperfect. But there is only one perfect vulva. Yours! Care your way.”
Somesuch Director Kim Gehrig celebrates the diverse beauty of the vulva in this absolutely joyous, mixed media ad for Libresse, perfectly set to the sounds of Camille Yarbrough’s Take Yo Praise.
Libresse has followed up its ground-breaking ads about menstruation, which include the Cannes Grand Prix-winning Blood Normal, with a film tackling an even more taboo subject: female genitalia.
Its latest ad, Viva La Vulva, is being released first in Sweden and Denmark promoting Libresse’s V-Care range of body washes, liners and wipes in the Nordics. Directed by Kim Gehrig of Somesuch for AMV BBDO, it features an array of vulva-like shapes and imagery singing to a reworked version of Camille Yarbrough’s “Take Yo Praise.”
Apple has always pushed the boundaries when it comes to advertising and this ad is no exception, pushing the boundaries between live action, stop motion sets and 3D animation. Beautifully done!

Transient” is a compilation of the best shots from my storm chasing adventures of summer 2017. Most of the lightning footage was captured in uncompressed raw at 1000 frames per second with our Phantom Flex4K. This summer I chased for over 30 days and traveled 20K miles. My respect and admiration for storm chasers became even stronger this year. This is one of the most difficult projects I have ever attempted in my career. On several occasions I found myself uncomfortable either mentally or physically. Chasing storms with a Phantom Flex4K is stressful even when things are going well. There were at least 10 days where I returned home with my tail between my legs and nothing to show after a ten hour chase and 500 miles. There were also a couple of days that I drove home with an ear to ear smile that lasted for hours. Most of the lightning was captured in my home state of Arizona. I also spent a week in the Great Plains chasing with Chad Cowan. It was during this time that I captured a time-lapse of the massive super-cell shown twice in Transient. For some reason that damn super-cell refused to spit out a proper bolt.
Lightning is like a snowflake. Every bolt is different. I learned that lightning varies greatly in speed. There are some incredible looking bolts that I captured that didn’t make the cut because even at 1000fps they only lasted for one frame during playback. I also captured some lightning that appear computer generated it lasted so long on the screen.
